REPORT: 'The Hunger Games: Catching Fire' will NOT be filmed in Kauai, Hawaii

Star Adviser is reporting that the beautiful Hawaiian island of Kauai will NOT be one of the filming locations for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire after all, despite the online reports.

“The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” will not be filmed on Kauai as mentioned here last week. Christina Gizoni, a Lionsgate representative, said in an email: “While we have not yet released the filming locations, Kauai will not be one of them.” Further comment was not forthcoming. Mea culpa. … 

Yes, the filmmakers did scout Hawaii locations, prompting buzz online and in blogs since June about Kauai. But it’s a no-go.

The veracity of this report is yet to be confirmed. But if it's true, I'd be sad because it's the perfect location for the Quarter Quell for me. Maybe they're looking for a different Hawaiian island? Guess we'll just have to wait.
