Due to being cast as Finnick in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Deadline is reporting that Sam Claflin will no longer join the cast of the upcoming film, Belle. If you remember, Jennifer Lawrence had to do the same thing before, dropping out of the films "The Seventh Son" and "Savages," when she took the role of Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games.
When Sam Claflin had to drop out of due to a date clash with The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, it created an opportunity for another young actor.
Sam Reid has taken over to play the lead role of John Daviner in Amma Assante’s Belle. The film tells the true story of Dido Elizabeth Belle Lindsay (played by Gugu Mbatha-Raw), a mixed race girl raised as an aristocratic lady in 18th Century and who fell in love with a man of high social standing (Reid).
According to Deadline, Belle is scheduled to start filming on September 24th. And with Catching Fire reportedly set to begin filming by September 11 next week, Sam would definitely have schedule conflicts.
