NEWS: James Newton Howard's Original Motion Picture Score Album for 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1' Now Available for Pre-Order

I know most of you will love this news, especially those who are somewhat similarly disappointed with the Official Companion Soundtrack album curated by Lorde. The Original Motion Picture Score for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 by James Newton Howard is now available for pre-order on Amazon for $12.99. 
The album will drop on November 24, 2014, three days after the movie's official release. The tracklist is not available yet, but we'll update this post or publish a new one whenever it becomes available.

NEWS: Ariana Grande To Be Featured In 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1' Official Soundtrack Album (Updated)

UPDATE (11/01/14): Ariana Grande's song in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 Official Soundtrack Album will be titled "All My Love." The song, which is confirmed to be the untitled Track #5 in the soundtrack tracklist, is a collaboration with Grande and electronic music group, Major Lazer. It was written by album curator Lorde and produced by Diplo. Thanks to Amazon France.
Singer Ariana Grande had a livestream with her fans yesterday, October 28th and revealed that she will be having a song on the official soundtrack for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1. The "Problem" singer also said that she has recorded the song with album curator Lorde and rapper/songwriter Diplo.

AUDIO: Listen to a 90 second preview 'Silhouettes' by Of Monsters and Men from 'Catching Fire Soundtrack

MTV has released a 90 second preview of Silhouettes by Of Monsters and Men from the Catching Fire Soundtrack. They also talked to the band about the inspiration for the song. 

Although they are fans of the “Hunger Games” series, the band chose to write “Silhouettes” not to match any specific scene in the book/film, but more the overall feeling of the second tome in the series, in which Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark are cast back into the Hunger Games arena to fight against former victors in the midst of a burgeoning revolution.
“I think that’s stronger than digging into and dissecting the book and writing a song about one scene or something,” þórhallsson said. “It’s more about the feeling of the whole story.”
A bittersweet song that’s delicacy hides a kind of throbbing tension, it’s easy to see how the tune could fit into the film — or serve as the inner monologue running through Katniss’s head as she recalls all the people she has lost in her dystopian world: “A thousand silhouettes/ Dancing on my chest/ No matter where I sleep/ You are haunting me,” sings the band’s Nanna Bryndís Hilmarsdóttir over an increasingly tortured beat.

NEWS:The National's song 'Lean' to be part of 'The Hunger Games: Catching Fire' soundtrack

It looks like the band The National will be part of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire Soundtrack. Their song, Lean has been confirmed to be the second song in the soundtrack along with Coldplay's Atlas. Check out the report from HuffingtonPost:

The National submitted a song for the “Hunger Games: Catching Fire” soundtrack with the title “Dying Is Easy,” but the folks behind the sure-to-be massive sequel felt the name was too grim. The song name has since been changed to “Lean.” 

“The song almost didn’t make it because it was too dark for the ‘Hunger Games’ soundtrack, which I thought was sort of funny because it’s about killing kids,” singer Matt Berninger told NME. “I don’t know how a song can be darker than that? So we had to change the name of the song; I actually like the name ‘Lean.’”
Coldplay recently released “Atlas,” the song the band recorded for “Catching Fire.”
