ARTICLE: Does 'The Hunger Games' have a chance of winning an Oscar Award?

Announcement of Academy Award Nominations isn't until January 15th of next year and the main event won't be held until February 24th; but Scott Feinberg, an award analyst and a writer/blogger at The Hollywood Reporter, has already started his weekly forecast analyzing the potential contenders for major Oscar categories. And guess what? The Hunger Games made his first list of possible nominees for these major categories:
  • Best Picture 
  • Best Director (Gary Ross)
  • Best Actress (Jennifer Lawrence) 
  • Best Adapted Screenplay (Suzanne Collins, Billy Ray, Gary Ross) 
  • Best Cinematography 
  • Best Costume Design 
  • Best Film Editing

  • Best Original Score (James Newton Howard)
