A few weeks ago, it was reported that Emmy award-winning writer for Game Change, Danny Strong was in talks to write the scripts for Mockingjay Part 1 and Part 2, although nothing was confirmed nor announced by Lionsgate. Today, our Effie, Elizabeth Banks confirmed the news on her website:
Right now I’m filming The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, but the powers that be are hard at work adapting book #3, Mockingjay. Going Twilight-style, the third book will be split up into two movies, both written byBuffy alum Danny Strong.
He acts and writes! He wrote the HBO flicks Game Change and Recount, so tight, I can’t wait to see what he does with Mockingjay!
Part one of Mockingjay is scheduled for release November 21, 2014, to be followed by the final film in The Hunger Games series November 20, 2015.
So happy about this! Danny Strong is a strong (pun intended) writer. Mockingjay is in good hands. :)
